We teach guitar classes (electric or acoustic), ukulele, mandolin, dobro, lap steel and bass, for students of all ages and levels. It’s never too late to learn to play an instrument!
Beginner Level:
- Main parts of the instrument and how to hold it with a correct posture.
- Learning the notes on the strings and how to tune the instrument.
- Basic chords and practicing their fingering.
- Basic strumming technique and basic rhythmic patterns
- Reading simple tablatures.
- Learning some simple songs to put into practice what has been learned.
Intermediate Level:
- New chords and scales.
- Arpeggio technique and advanced rhythmic patterns.
- Learning to play solos and improvise.
- Technique of bendings, vibratos, and hammer-ons/pull-offs.
- Music theory and how to apply it to our instrument.
- Experimenting with different tunings.
- Learning about instrument maintenance to keep it in optimal condition.
Advanced Level:
- Advanced techniques (fingerpicking, sweep picking, tapping, legato…)
- Developing the ability to play different musical styles such as jazz, blues, rock, and metal.
- Learning to compose and arrange music for the guitar.
- Developing the ability to play with speed and precision.
- Learning to use recording software such as Logic Pro to record and produce complete songs.
Business hours:
Monday to Friday from 10:00 to 13:00 and from 16:00 to 21:00 hrs.
Duration:
Classes of 1 hour per week. It can be extended to more hours per week according to the individual needs and practice time of each student.
Bilingual Learning (Spanish-English)
Instrument:
If the student so wishes, the instrument class may be taught in English.
Singing and playing:
Playing an instrument and singing at the same time is not an easy task for everyone. We will work step by step on synchronizing the two instruments. Maintaining a good tempo, rhythm and the ability to combine two actions at the same time will come with practice and dedication.
